Floridians with a suspended driver's license have an opportunity to get it back at a lower cost.

"Operation Greenlight" is happening across the state on various dates this month and next.

During the event, collection agency fees are waived on overdue fines or court costs, which could save drivers hundreds of dollars to get their license reinstated.

Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts Joe Abruzzo says his agency is offering the service only online and by phone through Friday.

"Our phone lines right now are blowing up."

He says many people have had their licenses suspended due to overdue fines for speeding tickets or other infractions.

"It could be quite substantial. The fees mount up. Our goal is to get people back on the road, driving in good standing so they could go to work, take care of their families."

"Operation Greenlight" has various dates throughout the state, so check with your county's clerk of courts.
