Florida’s Attorney General has issued a warning for all residents about a new ‘suggestive’ texting scam.
Attorney General Ashley Moody says the scam fools victims using ‘suggestive’ messages; with some of those messages containing a picture of a young woman asking to meet.
The Better Business Bureau shared an example of the suggestive text, which read “hello, are you John? It’s Amanda. We chatted on Tinder before when I came to visit my cousin, but we never met IRL. I’m back in town if you want to meet up this time, are you free?”
Officials are reminding Floridians to never click on links from unfamiliar phone numbers.
If you receive a text that you suspect may be a scam, block the number and delete the message.
Attorney General Moody also warned residents to never send personal or financial information to an unknown messenger.
