A Delray Beach Police officer is charged with official misconduct and grand theft.
25-year old Jacaria Stringer is accused of falsifying timesheets by claiming she was on military leave for 21 days between March 2020 and last August, when she was not.
She was paid more than $6,500 for that time.
The Delray Beach Police Department asked the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for a criminal investigation back in September of last year after questioning the accuracy of her timesheets.
Stringer turned herself in on Tuesday.
