An employee that was fired from a South Florida Family Dollar came back to the store and opened fire during a shooting on Tuesday.
According to a woman at the scene, her relative is the manager of the store, located in Northwest Miami Dade, near Northwest 17th Avenue and 71st Street.
That relative fired a female employee on Tuesday morning.
The former employee returned a short time later with other men and confronted the store manager and his wife.
The altercation turned into a shooting when the wife of the manager fired her gun in self-defense.
Witness Leslie Taylor tells Local 10 News “I got a call from my daughter this morning saying my granddaughter and her husband were in some type of altercation a shootout ensued, a gun fight."
Customers at the store said the manager stayed at the scene to speak with detectives.
Witnesses say the fired employee and the two men she came with fled the scene before police and paramedics arrived.
