An 18-year-old from Tampa is in custody after FHP says she crashed into a playground in DeSoto County, killing a 4-year-old and leaving another young child in serious condition.
Troopers say Kiara Morant lost control of her Jeep Cherokee and ended up in the playground of the Imagination Station Pre-School in Arcadia. Troopers say Morant did not have a valid driver's license at the time. She was taken to DeSoto Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, and booked into the county jail.
