Two South Florida Publix locations evacuated after bomb threats called in

Two South Florida Publix locations and a gas station were evacuated on Wednesday after bomb threats were called in to the stores.

Bomb-sniffing dogs cleared the Publix located at 3304 Bonita Beach Road in Bonita Springs early Wednesday after the first bomb threat was made.

Another Bonita Springs Publix, located at 12900 Trade Way Four, was cleared by Lee County deputies after a second bomb threat was called in around 5:30PM.

The Trade Way Four Publix was evacuated as bomb technicians and detection dogs conducted sweeps of the building.

A third bomb threat was called in to a Sunoco gas station in front of the Bonita Beach Road Publix Wednesday afternoon, but that location was also cleared by authorities.

Police are investigating the threats.
