Police are looking for a thief who stole 20 left shoes after breaking into a Florida shoe store by cutting a hole in the roof.

Surveillance video from inside the Luxe Miami shoe store caught the criminal climbing the wall where the shoes were on display around 2:30 a.m Tuesday.

Store owner Johan Alvarez told WSVN “when he comes down, he kinda falls off, comes to the ground. He just goes up quick and starts grabbing every shoe here. It’s a big hit, definitely.”

Alvarez says the store suffered $15,000 to $20,000 in losses, and they don’t have insurance.

According to Miami Police Officer Michael Vega, Luxe Miami was not the only store that was targeted.

“These crooks, they actually made three holes on top of the roof, two of them not being in this business, so it’s more of the damage that they caused then what they actually stole,” said Vega. “Talking about what they took, they took left feet shoes. They didn’t take a pair of shoes, they just took single shoes that were on the rack.”

Alvarez said he’s hoping the thief realizes he only has 20 left shoes and brings them back.

Police believe the suspect may be working with an accomplice.

Anyone with information on the burglary is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
