Hospitals, Doctors Disagree with Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo

Just a few days after saying that masks never saved any lives during the pandemic, Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo is making headlines again.

Now, he's recommending that healthy children not receive any of the COVID vaccines. But, some prominent hospitals and doctors say that isn't good advice. "We're still recommending it, because kids are still getting sick," said Dr. Nancy Silva from Small World Pediatrics in Wesley Chapel. "We're seeing children one, two, three months afterward that are still having symptoms."

In a statement, Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital and the American Academy of Pediatrics say they will continue to support the COVID vaccine for children, even those who are healthy.

Even the White House is weighing in on the situation. "It's deeply disturbing that politicians are peddling conspiracy theories out there, and casting doubt on vaccinations when it's our best tool against the virus," said Press Secretary Jen Psaki.

"We've seen a lot of of politicizations of science," said Gov. DeSantis, who is making it clear he wants to "close the curtain" on what he calls "COVID theater."
