Florida's attorney general made an announcement on Tuesday about a letter she and attorneys general for 13 other states sent to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
"Enough is enough. At this point it is absolutely clear that Secretary Mayorkas is working, not only in violation of the law, but against the security of the United States. And I, along with many of my colleagues are now demanding his resignation."
On "Fox and Friends," Ashley Moody said his "failed leadership" is resulting in a disaster at the southwest border and puts the nation on the verge of a national security crisis.
She says the secretary is breaking the law at the southern border.
"Even refusing to do what Democrats and Republicans alike have done historically, and that is detain and deport those committing crimes here in the United States. Instead, he now releases dangerous criminals back into our communities."
Moody points out Customs and Border Protection seized enough fentanyl to kill every man, woman and child in our country six times over between the time Mayorkas took office through last year. That's a 30 percent increase since before the Biden administration took office.
She also cites major increases in sex offenders being detained at the border due to what she calls "open border" policies.
The attorney general points to a 213 percent increase in sexual offenders being detained at the border and she says more are roaming the streets across this state and the country.
She says deportations are down 70 percent, as illegal immigrants are being flown around the country by the Biden administration. Moody says a majority are choosing to come to Florida.
Among the other AG's signing the letter are those working for Florida's border states of Alabama and Georgia.
