Students attending the University of Miami will start the spring semester by remote, amid surging cases of COVID-19 in South Florida.
The announcement coming this week that remote-only classes will be conducted when the semester begins January 18th at the private university, with in-person classes expected to resume on January 31st.
Florida's public universities are expected to be open for in-person classes at the start of the semester, but leaders of the university system are urging students and faculty to wear masks and get vaccinated and booster shots before returning to campus.
