A new drive-thru COVID testing site opened Thursday in Palm Beach County.
The Wells Recreation Center site in Riviera Beach will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week with the exception of New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
The added site was necessary after multiple testing sites have been slammed this week.
The Gaines Park drive-thru site in West Palm Beach was at maximum capacity just an hour after opening on Wednesday. A day earlier, people waited four hours to get tested. That location has closed early and will not reopen until after the New Year.
Another new site in Boynton Beach is expected to open as soon as next week.
One traffic note regarding the new Riviera Beach site, it has been causing back-ups along Blue Heron Boulevard, just east of President Barack Obama Highway.
