Broward man accused of rape, threatening Voodoo curses in Coral Springs

A Broward County man has been arrested on two counts of sexual battery after two women told Coral Springs police he raped and threatened them with a Voodoo curse.

Officers arrested Stanley Emmanuel Jeanty on Tuesday after one of the victims told police Jeanty raped her at his apartment, showed her a Voodoo alter, then threatened to put a curse on her family if she reported him to authorities.

According to Coral Springs Police, the victim was waiting for the bus on September 18th when Jeanty approached her and offered her a ride home.

The victim declined at first, but Jeanty persuaded the woman after showing her his U.S. Army identification.

Jeanty told the woman he worked at Spirit Airlines and could help get her a job with the airline.

Instead of taking the woman home, Jeanty took her to his apartment where he helped her fill out an online application.

The woman said Jeanty dropped her off at home, but later returned to pick her up to complete the application process at his apartment where he proceeded to rape her.

The victim told police after he raped her, Jeanty took a picture of her naked on the floor and threatened to distribute it if she called police.

When the victim tried to escape, Jeanty overpowered her, pinned her down, and raped her again; before walking the victim to a closet that contained a Voodoo alter and threatened to put a curse on her family if she contacted police.

Authorities say there could be more victims who Jeanty's intimidated into keeping quiet.
