U.S. Border Patrol officials say they took nearly two dozen undocumented migrants into custody Sunday in Jupiter.

Witnesses say a boat arrived on the beach in the middle of the day with 40 to 50 people on board. They watched as the suspected migrants scattered, running towards the street and into bushes.

But federal officials say they took 23 into custody. It's not known if a search continues for more migrants.

No word on the nationalities of those who came ashore.

The boat involved was seized by federal authorities.
