Authorities are trying to make sense of an attempted murder-suicide.
That's what Palm Beach County Sheriff's officials say happened in Lake Worth Beach around 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Deputies say a man shot his wife, who is hospitalized in critical condition. He then barricaded himself inside the home and shot himself to death.
No names or details on what led up to the shooting has been released.
A heavy police presence was on scene in the neighborhood all morning, with several roadways shut down while the incident was investigated.
