Florida Republicans Hold On To Bigger Lead Next Legislative Session

Florida Republicans will hold on to an even bigger majority during the 2022 legislative session. Governor Ron DeSantis setting the special election to fill three soon-to-be Democratic vacancies in the Florida Senate and House for March 8th when the session ends March 11th. Barry University's Dr. Sean Foreman says the governor is playing politics, but it's all legal. He says even though Republicans already had the majority, this will make it even easier for them to push their agenda through. The posts are currently held by Senator Perry Thurston and State Representatives Bobby DuBose and Omari Hardy who were forced to resign, effective January, in order to run for the Congressional seat of the late Alcee Hastings.
