A Florida-based burger chain is about to purchase a Florida-based pizza chain.

BurgerFi, which is headquartered in North Palm Beach, announced on Monday that it's acquiring Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza, a Fort Lauderdale-based chain, for $161.3 million.

In a statement, BurgerFi's executive chairman called the purchase the "first acquisition in building a premium multibrand platform."

While two chains formed in Florida, they're both nationwide brands.

BurgerFi has 177 locations across the country and Anthony's has 61 locations in eight states, including more than two dozen here in Florida.
