You may have heard of the deworming medicine Ivermectin.

Some people are attempting to use it a a COVID-19 treatment, even though it's not approved for that purpose.

A Palm Beach County man is among them. Ryan Drock of Loxahatchee is suing Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center to force doctors there to treat his wife with the drug.

47-year old Tamara Drock has been hospitalized since August and being treated with the hospital's COVID protocol, including Remdesivir, steroids and antibiotics. The elementary school teacher's condition declined. She wound up on a ventilator September 20th and hasn't come off.

The suit claims Drock has been begging doctors to try Ivermectin on his wife, even offering to sign a waiver that they won't be held liable if something goes wrong.

He has a hearing before a Palm Beach County Circuit Court judge next week.
