A Jupiter Farms man charged with murdering a young mother has been violent toward women in the past.

45-year old Eric Westergard is accused of killing 23-year old Perrin Damron, the daughter of his girlfriend. The suspect says he was in an intimate relationship with the victim too.

He claims she fell and hit her head, so he wrapped her body in plastic and dumped her into a canal.

It's been discovered through court records and police reports that Westergard pleaded guilty to simple battery in 2018 after another woman said she fell asleep in his bed and woke up to find him on top of her, placing tape over her mouth. When she tried to push him off, he punched her in the face several times.

Westergard told detectives with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office that he had mixed prescription pain medications with alcohol.

He did no jail time in that case, but this time Westergard is charged with first degree murder.
