(Miami, FL) -- Thousands of Miami rally goers call for freedom for those living under Communism in Latin America.

Miami Dade officials along with activists and several Latin artists were present for The Miami Freedom Rally yesterday in Bayfront Park. Rally goers called for freedom for those oppressed by Communist regimes in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua.

The Biden administration is hitting Cuba with new sanctions over what it called "actions to suppress peaceful" protests earlier this month.

The Treasury Department announced Friday the penalties against the National Revolutionary Police, its director, and the director's deputy. During a meeting, President Biden said "Cuban-Americans are hurting" because "their loved ones are suffering." Biden noted there will be more sanctions against Cuba unless a drastic change takes place there, which he doesn't see happening.
