The Town of Palm Beach has reinstated its mask policy for everyone on town property, whether they are vaccinated or not. This as COVID cases surge.
The mandate is in place indoors in all town-owned buildings where town of Palm Beach offices, divisions, and departments conduct business and provide services to the community.
The town manager says visitors who may be caught off guard by the newly reinstated rule will be provided with masks to wear. The town had previously been requiring only those who are not vaccinated to wear face coverings in town buildings.
The Palm Beach Town Council is holding an emergency meeting on COVID-19 at 5 p.m. Tuesday, when they could enact more emergency restrictions. Palm Beach was one of few South Florida municipalities that put their own curfews in place during the pandemic.
The city of Coral Springs, in Broward County, is also making masks mandatory for staff and residents who are vaccinated and unvaccinated on city property.
