CDC Issues New Mask Guidance Amid Spreading Delta Variant

As the Delta variant spreads, the CDC is updating its mask guidance, saying those who are fully vaccinated wear masks in indoor public settings if they're in a COVID hotspot.

Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky says the vast majority of transmission is occurring in unvaccinated people.

Dr. Walensky says part of the new guidance aims to protect those who are too young to be vaccinated or immunocompromised and unable to be vaccinated.
