The nation's Labor Secretary is spending the day in Florida with two members of Congress.

Marty Walsh says he's taken his priority from his role as Boston's mayor to Washington D.C., and he says that's "human infrastructure."

"It's making sure that we create opportunities. It's making sure that our kids have a good start in school, whether it's childhood education or universal pre-kindergarten."

Walsh met with U.S. Representatives Lois Frankel and Ted Deutch at a Boynton Beach daycare center.

"Outcomes show, studies show that if you have those opportunities you're going to do better in high school. You're going to potentially go to college, you're going to do better in college or pathways."

He talked about the programs Boston put into place to help families of young children to get their kids access to early education.

President Biden's "American Families Plan" would fund free universal preschool for all 3- and 4-year-olds.

Walsh is also hosting roundtables on home health care and Alzheimer's care.
