Miami & Miami Beach Cancel July 4th Celebrations After Surfside Tragedy

The fireworks show will not go on as planned in Miami and Miami Beach as the community continues mourning the loss of those who died in the Surfside collapse. Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber says now is not the time for the city to be hosting parties. The Ft. Lauderdale 4th of July Spectacular, featuring the Beach Boys, will begin at noon-until-930 p.m. Sunday along A1A and Las Olas. Hollywood Beach will have its Star-Spangled Spectacular along the Broadwalk beginning at 5 p.m. with offshore fireworks at 9 p.m. Fireworks will go off for Homestead's annual Independence Day Bash at Homestead-Miami Speedway 9 p.m. as well.
