Speed is suspected to be the cause of a fatal crash that claimed the lives of five people in Palm Beach County over the holiday weekend.
The Sheriff's Office says 18-year old Ramiro Gomez was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle on Sunday in Boca Raton, striking a concrete pole along Camino Real. The vehicle then rolled and landed on top of a Mercedes.
Gomez and two passengers, both ages 13-years old, died at the scene. Two people in the Mercedes also died from their injuries.
Five other children were seriously injured in the crash, which remains under investigation.
