While Palm Beach County's mask mandate is over, the school district is keeping its face mask policy in place for students and staff members.
A group of local parents are planning a protest against that later this week.
Members of Unmask Palm Beach County Kids want their children to have the option of taking their masks off at school. They say that more than 5,000 Palm Beach County parents have signed a petition to do just that.
Many parents say they won't be sending their kids to school on Friday, and plan to stand outside the School District headquarters in West Palm Beach for a demonstration.
A protest was held outside the Martin County School District headquarters during Tuesday night's school board meeting.
Several parents spoke against that county's mask policy. A special meeting to discuss the issue is being held next Tuesday.
