Report Cards Off Limits for Pasco School Deputies

NEW PORT RICHEY -- There's a new agreement in place between the Pasco County School Board and the Sheriff's Office regarding sharing of student data, passed unanimously without debate at Tuesday's board meeting.

School Resource Officers will no longer have access to information including individual grades, attendance, and discipline.

SRO's will also no longer have access to the district's Early Warning System, which identifies students considered off-track or at-risk.

In a statement, Sheriff Chris Nocco says the idea is to ease any anxiety parents have, as a result of "misinformation perpetuated by media reports."
