Snakes Alive! Highland County Sheriff: If You See One, Don't Kill It!

Sebring, Fl.(Florida News Network)-t's getting warm, which means snakes are starting to be more active. Animal Services Officer Brandon Owens caught this large rattlesnake on Andalusia Street in Sebring yesterday. The snake was taken to a local facility where its venom can be milked to be used to make antivenom.

If you see a snake, don't kill it (even if it is venomous). They serve a vital role in our ecosystem. Just stay away from it and make sure to keep pets and kids at a safe distance, too. If you really want it gone, call 863-402-7200 and the sheriff's office will try to take care of it for you.
