Street Corner Bubble Bath Touts Conserving Water By Going Vegan

PETA Demonstration in WPB 3/22/21

It's World Water Day and animal rights group PETA is holding a demonstration in downtown West Palm Beach.

"We have a PETA activist taking a bubble bath on the sidewalk today to remind everyone that the easiest way to conserve water, protect the environment and save nearly 200 animals a year is to go vegan."

Amanda Brody with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals says it takes more than a thousand gallons of water to make one steak.

"Producing just one pound of beef not only requires the needless slaughter of animals, but it also wastes as much water as 6 months of showering or 50 baths."

PETA points out that nearly half of all of the water used in the United States goes toward raising animals for food.

The demonstration on Monday was held at the busy intersection of Clematis Street and Olive Avenue.

PETA-whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”-opposes what the organization calls "Speciesism," referring to that as a "human-supremacist worldview."
