First Hearing In Tallahassee On School Reopening Case Moved Out Of Miami

Today marks the first hearing in Tallahassee in the school reopening case since it was moved out of Miami. The Florida Education Association is challenging the emergency order requiring schools to reopen for face-to-face learning unless state and local health officials say otherwise. F-E-A President Federick Ingram says administrators and teachers are doing the best they can. School districts outside of South Florida risk losing state funds if they don't open with brick-and-mortar classrooms. So far, Hillsborough is the only county to defy the mandate. The Governor is asking the court to dismiss the lawsuit.
