Boca Raton Shuts Down All Non-Essential Businesses

Boca Raton Shops

While Palm Beach County has not ordered all non-essential businesses to be closed, one city has done it.

Boca Raton businesses, such as beauty and nail salons, tattoo and massage parlors, were ordered to be shut down as of midnight Tuesday night.

Mayor Scott Singer says that close personal contact is involved in all of those types of businesses.

"We encourage everyone to stay at home wherever possible. This is a serious matter. And the sooner we all work together to combat the spread of COVID-19, the less the impacts will be and the sooner we can get back to our normal lives."

Among those businesses allowed to remain open are grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants for take-out and delivery only, healthcare providers and child care centers.
