Two Escape Injury In Fiery Landing

Federal investigators will launch a probe into a hard landing at Daytona Beach International Airport.

Witnesses say the twin-engine Cessna Citation Mustang kicked up sparks and flames as it skidded down the runway just after noon on Thursday.

Flight data shows the plane circled the airport several times either to fix the problem or burn off more of their fuel before attempting a belly landing.

Emergency crews were ready and waiting for the plane and quickly doused it with foam as the pilot and passenger escaped the flames.

The runway at DBIA was closed for hours and incoming commercial flights had to be diverted during the clean-up.

Flight records show the small, twin-engine just is owned by a company called EJets.
