New Voting Machines On Hand At Supervisor Of Elections Holds Open House

Voting booths in polling place

Palm Beach County's Supervisor of Elections is holding an open house Tuesday.

"There are so many things that the people don't understand how it works and we thought this would be a really good opportunity for people to understand it better."

Wendy Sartory Link says attendees will learn first-hand about the elections process and what her office is doing to ensure safe and secure elections.

It will also offer you the opportunity to cast a sample ballot on the new voting equipment.

"You'll be able to fill in an oval instead of connect the arrows that we had before and when you scan it in, it's also taking a digital image of your ballot."

She says the new tabulators can also run more than one race at a time in the case of recounts.

Link says the event is all about transparency. She was appointed to the position earlier this year by Gov. DeSantis after he removed former Elections Supervisor Susan Bucher from office.

That move followed lengthy recounts in the wake of the November 2018 elections.

The open house is from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Supervisor of Elections Service Center in Riviera Beach.
