City Commission Rejects $180,000 Settlement Offer For Fired Employee

West Palm Beach City Commissioners have voted unanimously against paying $180,000 to a former city employee who threatened a lawsuit for claims of inappropriate behavior.

Sharagay Esposito was fired and says she received a picture of a man's private parts through text message. According to documents, Willie Perez, who is regional director of a security company that recently received a contract with the city, was part of that conversation.

Former City Administrator Jeff Green was also reportedly on that text message thread.

Esposito's attorney is also claiming that Green sexually assaulted the woman, but commissioners last night said they did not have enough information to give Esposito taxpayer money.

Mayor Keith James urged the Commission to accept the settlement, saying it would cost a lot more than that if the city is taken to court. But commissioners call the allegations one-sided.
