PBC Superintendent To Recommend Firing Principal Who Questioned Holocaust

The Palm Beach County Schools Superintendent plans to recommend that the former principal of Spanish River High School be fired.

That's according to a letter written to William Latson by Dr. Donald Fennoy.

Latson was removed from his position back in July and reassigned after an email to a parent surfaced in which he wrote that he "couldn't say the holocaust was a factual, historical event."

The superintendent writes in the letter that after an internal investigation, the school district has found there is "just cause" to warrant Latson's termination because he violated ethics rules and failed to carry out job responsibilities.

Fennoy says he will make the termination recommendation at the school board meeting on October 30th and that his firing should be effective November 21st.

Latson will be able to appeal the decision through the Department of Labor Relations before November 20th.
