South Florida Students Skip School For Worldwide Climate Strike

Dozens of South Florida students skipping school along with their peers across the globe for a worldwide climate strike today called by 16-year-old Greta Thunberg. She's the Swedish teen who spoke on Capitol Hill demanding our leaders take action, passing laws reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In Broward, the students are protesting in front of the District office at 11:30 this morning where they will observe 11 minutes of silence for the 11 years some scientists say we have left until the atmosphere reaches 2-degrees Celcius--a point of no return. Miami-Dade students are gathering outside Miami Beach City Hall at 10 this morning demanding our lawmakers take action to save the planet.

The Broward rally is being held at the Broward County Public Schools Building, 600 SE 3rd Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301

The Miami-Dade protest is being held at Miami Beach City Hall, 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33139
