ICE Raids Scheduled For Today

(Washington, DC) -- Thousands of undocumented immigrants in Miami and across the US are on edge today after the announcement that federal immigration officials are aiming to round up about two-thousand people in raids across the country.

Protests are taking place nationwide including one in Denver Colorado where an anti-ICE protest turned into an anti-US display when demonstrators took down the Stars and Stripes and replaced it with a Mexican flag. They then vandalized a “Blue Lives Matter” banner, erected to support police, with a spray-painted message “Abolish ICE".

ICE agents dispersed the demonstrators and replaced the original flags.

In Homestead Florida, over 300 people showed up to protest the largest detention facility citing inhumane conditions.

The raids were originally planned for last month however, President Trump postponed them shortly before they were set to begin to give Congress time to craft legislation for immigration reform.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement will reportedly be targeting immigrants with final deportation orders in Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, San Francisco and Washington, DC.

Because of Tropical Storm Barry, New Orleans has been excluded from the raids this weekend.
