The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-1) defeated the Seattle Seahawks (3-2) 38-35 on Sunday afternoon in Seattle to bounce back from their first loss of the 2025 season.
The Buccaneers took a 13-0 lead in the second quarter before the Seahawks scored on the last drive of the first half and the first drive of the second half to take a 14-13 lead. From there the game was back and forth for the rest of the way until the Seahawks took a 35-28 lead with 3:18 to go in the game.
Moments later Baker Mayfield hit Sterling Shepard with a 11-yard touchdown to tie the game 35-35. The Seahawks had one more chance to drive the ball but Lavonte David came away with a huge interception of Sam Darnold and the Buccaneers had a chance to end the game. They did when Chase McLaughlin hit a 39-yard field goal as time expired to win the game.
Baker Mayfield finished the game 29-for-33 with 379 yards passing including two touchdowns and no interceptions. Emeka Egbuka continued the incredible start to his career, grabbing seven receptions for 163 yards and a touchdown in the winning effort.
The Buccaneers are next in action when they host the San Francisco 49ers on October 12th. Kickoff next Sunday is scheduled for 4:25 PM from Raymond James Stadium - you can hear the game on 97.9 WXTB-FM - The Mighty 98 Rock.
