The Montreal Canadiens defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 in overtime on Sunday night to win the first game of the first round Stanley Cup Playoff series. With the win, the Canadiens have taken a 1-0 lead in the Best-of-Seven series.
Josh Anderson scored in the first period to give the Canadiens a 1-0 lead. In the second period, Darren Raddysh and Brandon Hagel both scored to give the Lightning a 2-1 lead, before Juraj Slafkovsky scored on the power play to tie the game 2-2.
Slafkosky's second goal on the power play came early in the third period to give Montreal a 3-2 lead, but the Lightning had a huge answer from Brandon Hagel who scored to tie the game 3-3. That would be the score until overtime, when Slafkovsky scored again to complete the hat trick and win the game for Montreal.
