Lightning Knock Off Red Wings 2-1 On Saturday

The Tampa Bay Lightning (26-9-2) defeated the Detroit Red Wings (12-22-5) 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Amalie Arena.

The Lightning got goals from Ross Colton and Brayden Point in the first period to build a 2-0 lead. That would prove to be all the offense the Bolts would need - though Detroit got a goal from Adam Erne in the third period, that would be as close as the Red Wings would get and Tampa Bay would hold on for the win. Andrei Vasilevskiy got the win in net for Tampa Bay, going 25-for-26 in net.

The Lightning and Red Wings will meet in the second game of a back-to-back on Sunday afternoon - puck drop is scheduled for high noon, with pregame coverage beginning at 11 AM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
