Lightning Winning Streak Ends At 10 To New Jersey Devils

The Tampa Bay Lightning (27-14-4) fell to the New Jersey Devils (17-21-7) 3-1 on Sunday night in Newark, New Jersey.

After a scoreless first period, the Lightning struck first with a Tyler Johnson goal just thirty-seven seconds into the second period. The Devils had an answer, though, as Andy Greene scored at the 3:10 mark to even up the game. New Jersey added a goal from Travis Zajac midway through the second period and that would prove to be the difference for New Jersey. Miles Wood added an empty netter late that would push the score to 3-1 and secure the end of Tampa Bay's ten game winning streak.

Former Lightning goaltender Louis Domingue, playing on both ends of a back-to-back for New Jersey, got the win in net, converting 26 saves on 27 shots against. Curtis McElhinney took the loss for Tampa Bay - though New Jersey only got 19 shots on net, two of them got through and that would be enough for the Devils to pick up the win.

Tampa Bay returns home for the final time before the All Star Break when they play host to the LA Kings on Tuesday night. Puck drop between the Lightning and Kings is scheduled for 7 PM on Tuesday - coverage begins at 6 PM on News Radio WFLA.
