There IS a perfect way to split your Oreo into two, and a group of scientists from MIT has figured it all out!
They are using a new tool they've created called the Oreometer, which splits your Oreo cookie with a specific amount of force to get one clean cookie and one with all the filling.
According to scientists, the cookie needs to be from a freshly opened pack for the split to occur, and one must use a twisting motion. If you're wondering where
According to USA Today, the scientists, unfortunately, could not decipher how to manipulate the perfect split Oreo split with equal cream on each side of the cookie.
Study author Crystal Owens, a doctoral student in mechanical engineering, told USA TODAY she got the inspiration for the study from using a rheometer, which measures liquid and substances' responses to force. The laboratory instrument measures the affects on a fluid by moving one of two discs it is sandwiched between.
