Jury Trial Date Set For Alleged Mar-a-Lago Trespasser

US-POLITICS-TRUMP

President Trump is staying at Mar-a-Lago for the first time since a Chinese national is alleged to have lied while trying to gain access to his Palm Beach estate last month.

Yujing Zhang will go on trial May 28.

The jury trial will take place in a Fort Lauderdale federal courtroom.

Zhang showed up at the president's Palm Beach estate March 30, first telling Secret Service that she was there to use the pool, but changed her story as she approached more security checkpoints.

She was taken into custody once the Secret Service found her carrying a thumb drive with malware, four cell phones and two Chinese passports.

A search of Zhang's hotel room turned up a device that detects hidden cameras, $8,000 in cash and several USB drives. She has pleaded not guilty to charges of trespassing and lying to a federal agent.
