TAMPA (970 WFLA) -- Tampa police are investigating a claim that singer Chris Brown "sucker punched" a photographer during a paid appearance at a club in Channelside.
Brown was appearing at AJA in Channelside around 1 a.m. Monday morning, with 50 people in his entourage, according to News Channel 8, following a sold-out show at Amalie Arena. Bennie Vines was taking photos of the venue and crowd. He claims that Brown got angry and began punching him in the face. Vines went to Brandon Hospital for medical treatement, saying he suffered a broken lip and hit his head on the wall. Vines is also talking about suing Brown.
AJA released a statement on Facebook about the incident.
