The Florida Gators (5-2, 3-2 SEC) defeated the Texas Longhorns (4-2, 1-2 SEC) 27-24 on Saturday afternoon in Austin to score a huge road upset in conference play. It was the first road win at a top-ten opponent since 2012.
Trammell Jones got his first start at quarterback and threw two touchdown passes - both to Lacota Dippre. Jones went 22-for-35 with 155 yards in the air and ran for another 41. Jaden Baugh ran for 91 yards and a score, including an 11-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter that would prove to be the difference in the game. Arch Manning went 14-for-20 with 173 yards passing and a touchdown in the losing effort.
The Gators are next in action when they play Georgia in Atlanta in two weeks. Kickoff between the Gators and Bulldogs is scheduled for 3:30 PM on October 31st.
