The Tampa Bay Rays (63-44) defeated the Texas Rangers (55-53) 3-0 on Wednesday night at Tropicana Field. The Rays have evened the three-game series against Texas, and improved to 4-1 on the nine-game homestand at Tropicana Field.
The Rays got all the offense they needed in the first inning. Yandy Diaz homered on the first pitch of the game, before Ryan Vilade hit a two-run homer to make it 3-0. Ian Seymour (7-3, 4.37) got the win following an opener as the Rays pitching threw a shutout against Texas.
The Rays will now try to sweep the three-game series against the Rangers coming up on Thursday afternoon. First pitch Thursday is scheduled for 12:10 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting Inside Pitch at 11:00 AM on 95.7 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
