Rays Drop First Game To Rangers

The Tampa Bay Rays (62-44) defeated the Texas Rangers (55-52) 4-1 on Tuesday night at Tropicana Field. The loss snapped the Rays winning streak at three games as they continue their nine-game homestand.

Cal Quantril (4-3, 3.94) got the win for the Rangers, allowing one earned run on two hits while striking out seven and walking one. The Ras only offense came when Junior Caminero hit a RBI triple in the sixth inning - his first triple of the season and 64th RBI of the year.

The Rays look to bounce back when they meet the Rangers in the middle game of the three-game series on Wednesday night. First pitch Wednesday is scheduled for 6:40 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.7 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
