Rays Extend Streak To Nine

The Tampa Bay Rays (52-33) defeated the Houston Astros (43-47) 3-1 on Friday night in Houston. With the win, the Rays have now won nine straight games.

Nick Martinez set the pace for the Rays, allowing one earned run on three hits in which he struck out three and walked one. The Rays got a solo homer from Nick Fortes in the sixth, a solo homer from Junior Caminero in the seventh, and a RBI double from Fortes in the eighth to account for the offense. Fortes finished the game 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored.

The Rays will try to make it ten in a row when they meet the Astros in the middle game of the three-game series coming up on Saturday night. First pitch Saturday is scheduled for 7:10 PM - Chris Adams-Wall begins pregame coverage at 6:30 PM on 95.7 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
