The Tampa Bay Rays (67-69) defeated the Washington Nationals (53-83) 7-4 on Sunday afternoon to sweep the three-game interleague series.
The Rays built an early lead thanks to a six-run second inning, keyed by Brandon Lowe's grand slam that ade it 6-0. They added another run in the third which would prove to be more then enough to get the win and secure the series sweep.
The Rays now return home for a two-team, sxgen-game homestand beginning against the Seattle Mariners on Monday. First pitch between the Mariners and Rays is scheduled for 7:35 PM - Chris Adams-Wall begins pregame coverage at 7:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
