Rays Open Series In San Francisco With Win Over Giants

The Tampa Bay Rays (60-63) defeated the San Francisco Giants (59-63) 7-6 late Friday night in San Francisco to win the opener of the three-game series.

The Giants built leads of 3-1 after the second and 6-3 after the third inning, but the Rays scored three times in the fourth to tie the game 6-6. That would be the score until the ninth, when Yandy Diaz hit a RBI single to give the Rays a 7-6 lead which would prove to be the final score.

The Rays will now look to win the series in San Francisco on Saturday night. First pitch Saturday is scheduled for 9:05 PM - Chris Adams-Wall begins pregame coverage at 8:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
