Mariners Rally To Beat Rays In Series Opener

The Seattle Mariners (64-53) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (57-60) 3-2 on Friday night in Seattle to win the opening game of the three-game series.

The Rays got a solo homer from Brandon Lowe in the first and from Junior Caminero in the sixth to build a 2-0 lead. That would be the score until the eighth inning, when the league-leader in home runs Cal Raleigh came through. His 43rd homer of the year was a three-run blast that proved to be the game-winning home run for Seattle.

The Rays will look to bounce back in the middle game of the three-game series on Saturday night. First pitch Saturday is scheduled for 9:40 PM - Chris Adams-Wall begins pregame coverage at 9:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
